Week 1: Orientation/Training

Double Training.

Camp Adventure over prepares us for our summers. The first week of every summer is always Orientation/Training week where we get to learn about the base, see our centers, observe the kids and get re-trained in the areas of hand-washing, first-aid, blood born pathogens, etc. I guess it's always better to be over prepared than under prepared!
Here is our first day of training!

From Left to Right: Bonny, Berto (Bird-O), Emily M., Morgan, and Emily K.

The Walk.

The way our base is set up is it has two sections. The first section is the actual post/base that we live on where the movie theater is, the gym, commissary, Exchange, etc. The second section, called Villagio, is where all the housing is for the families as well as the school and the SAC/CDC Center where we work. So, to get to work every morning we have to either take the shuttle, walk, or ride bikes (if they give them to us!). So, after training on Monday, we decided to take the walk to base. It take about 30-40 minutes to walk to base from our center and it isn't really a bad walk. I mean we are in Italy and with the mountains in the backgrounds, the corn fields, and the grapevines accompanying you along the way, you can't really get a better walk. And it makes you exercise everyday! Below are some pictures of our walk.
